Yum asian food!

Well now that Thanksgiving is over I will tell how I spent the rest of the week! I wound up staying at my mom's till Sunday afternoon (yesterday) so we had plenty of time to do a lot of fun things and to visit with family. <3 On black friday, we went to the asian world market in Plano and ate at their food court that Terry has been wanting to try out. It was delicious! Not everybody agreed with me though. xD I guess I do have special tastes....

^ This is a vegetarian dish that I ate there at the food court. They had a stall specifically for vegetarian foods, including veggie meat. Normally I don't like that whole "fake meat" stuff but this dish was excellent! I met the chef myself, she said she made everything from scratch. This particular dish had veggie beef in it, I could hardly tell that it wasn't meat.

^ This is what I had for desert! Okay, I know this looks kinda weird... allow me to explain! X3 There was this shaved ice stall that served these iced drinks with little tapioca balls on the bottom of the cups. An interesting concept... it was pretty good too. I got the milk tea flavor.

So after we were done there, we went to my Nana's house to visit her and Papa because they couldn't come to our Thanksgiving dinner. We had a good visit. ^_^ Afterwords, I think we went back home because it was getting fairly late. The next couple of days we did some shopping here and there at a couple of local malls, and ate out at some really nice restaurants. <3 I think my favorite day though was when we went to the asian market. Thanksgiving yay!

It's Thanksgiving time again... and I'm at my mom's house in Dallas! ^o^ I always enjoy coming over here. Today I helped my mom prepare the pumpkin pies and the pumpkin bread. <3 I also made a fruit salad with the assistance of my brother-in-law that I just met! It was pretty cool. I've still been preoccupied with my lil' Megu pet... it has evolved twice now! I can't wait to see what it goes to next. Since I don't have any Twitter friends with Megus I went around and found some people I don't know who did just so I could have my Megu compete with theirs! xD lol

Ben and Terry will be here in a few hours... they left as soon as Ben was able to get off work and get back to Henderson. ^__^

Megu!

I always like to browse the Apple app market to see if I can find anything cool that I have never noticed before. One app that I was hoping to find was something that would be similar to a gigapet, tamagotchi, etc. Well first I found a cute lil' app called "Pet Playpen", a very nice app that includes all the basics for virtual pets except for growing/evolving and picking a color or type of the species you selected. I liked this app a lot, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Finally, I found one called "Kawaii Pet Megu".

It includes all the basics of a virtual pet game, although the "games" are a bit lacking. All you can do to play with your pet is to race or fight it with other people's pets. Very nicely designed though, adorable artwork and graphics! It reminds me a LOT of tamagotchi because you start off with a base creature and it evolves as it levels. Of course you got to feed and bathe it, plus sweep the floor from time to time. It keeps things simple which makes it a very attractive app for killing time. ^__^ I would definitely recommend this if you have a iphone, ipad, or itouch. Best of all, it's FREE!

So what else have I been up to? I've been at my studies as usual, trying to do as best as I can. Finals are the second week of December!! <3 We have been discussing the prospect of trading in Ben's jeep that he recently inherited. It's just like mine but three years newer and without cruise control. (big downfall for me!) Since jeeps are not very fuel efficient I thought it would be a good idea to trade his in for something more economical. We'll see how that goes... we have found some nice looking prospects, all Hondas. Ben is bias towards Honda and Subaru so for sure we will be looking into one of those. I won't be trading in my jeep till 1) it breaks 2) I save up 1k for a down payment or 3) two years or 200k miles have passed by. :p

School n Stuff

Another day, another post. :3

So I've been pretty preoccupied here lately playing Sonic Adventure on the Xbox. Like everybody else has said, there weren't really any improvements made to it other than the glossed over graphics and higher frame rate. Still, it's been real fun to play it again and it brings back old memories. If I weren't already a Sonic fan, I'd probably rate this game a 6/10. Sonic fans will probably agree on at least a 7.5/10. The main thing that keeps bringing me back to play is the Chao Garden. Kinda addicting. xD I can't wait for them to release SA2!

Besides playing Xbox, I've been swamped in homework. I kinda sorta forgot about a big writing assignment that I have due a week from today, so now I am scurrying to get that done. @___@'' Oh what fun.

I also started using Twitter again on account of Ato... so you Twitter freaks can find me there. Don't expect me to use it much... I'm not that conformed to today's insane ways of constant communication. xD

Armadillo Chasin

Brrrr... so cold...

It has been SO cold here lately. @__@ It all happened so suddenly, too. One week it was 80 something degrees and then it plummets to 50 degrees the following week! That may not sound very cold to some folk, but it's pretty chilly for us Texans!

Something really funny happened today. I took Buu and Zoe outside to go get the mail and I saw Zoe take off across the street. I chased after her, yelling at her to come back, and finally caught up to her. She was on the side of the road sniffing at some animal... it LOOKED like a fox, but it was kinda hard to tell. She then chased it off into the woods and I proceeded to call for her till she finally decided to stop being so stubborn and came back.

I was really interested in what this animal was, so I put Buu and Zoe back in the house and went back to the spot where I saw the animal run into the woods. Thinking it might have been our lost cat Illidan, I called "here kitty kitty kitty" a few times and I heard something rustling around in the leaves. Whatever it was, it wasn't afraid of me and wasn't running away. I then decided to go get Ben out of his sick bed so he could give me his opinion on the matter while I tried to coax this animal out of the forest line with cat food. We figured it had to be tame otherwise it would have ran away at the sound of my voice. However, apparently there is such a thing as "urban armadillos" around here. xD I finally spotted the animal, it was an armadillo that was responding to the cat call. Ben theorized that the armadillo may have been used to stalking cats so it could steal their food... made enough sense to me. I threw some cat food to it and went back inside.

... in other news, Sonic Adventure has been released onto the Xbox live and PS3 marketplace! o____O'' Isn't that crazy? I totally didn't see this coming at all!

Photobucket

This port has received much criticism because nothing really has changed since the original Dreamcast version. No graphical enhancements have been made, no levels added, no extras, no nothing. However, this specific port could be considered the best looking version between the three versions (360/PS3, Gamecube, and Dreamcast) because of the higher 720p resolution and increased frame rate. Sonic Adventure is available now on the Xbox marketplace for $10, and for an additional $5 you can get the DX version. I'll probably just settle for the $10 version, since I actually have a copy of Sonic Adventure for the cube. :3 This is going to be a fun way to get more achievements!! I heard that you can also get avatar awards from this game as well. <3

What about SA2? According to some rumors SA2 will also be available at a later date... but I can't confirm that right now.

Fall Fest Thing!

Well yesterday was fun!

Yesterday we went to church as usual, but it was a amazing service. ^^ I can't even begin to describe how I felt during that service...it was just so incredible, blessed.

That evening we went to church again, but at this new church we have been going to in Henderson. They were having a fall fest for the kids so Ben and I helped out with the games. It was so much fun! The kids seemed like they were having a good time... my booth was pretty popular. :D I was running a go fishing game for them which everybody seemed to like.

Last night Ben showed me another trick in Photoshop. He showed me how to make animated gifs! Now I don't have to use that other program that I was using. :D Photoshop is even better than what I was using before for animated gifs, because you can use the puppet tool. See, check out what I did last night:

Poor Tails, he keeps hitting his head!

Now I am sipping coffee while I wait for Ben to wake up... we didn't sleep too well last night because our dogs kept us awake. @__@'' We had them sleep in our room with us because of Halloween. (there are some sick people that like to harm animals during Halloween where we live)

But anyways... yeah, fun. xD
